This morning we visited the Templar Castle in Santiago do Cocem as the first thing. The walls are very well preserved all around, but a cemetery has been built inside. Once again, we reached the castle through very narrow streets (see photo).
Afterwards, we drove about 150 km inland to Evora. Evora was inscribed as a World Heritage Site due to its completely preserved city walls, the well-preserved Roman temple, the cathedral, and the castle.
After leaving Evora towards Lisbon and taking a break along the way, to our horror, the camper did not start again. After some back and forth, Rudolf was able to jump-start the battery using the onboard battery. We decided to drive back to Evora and stay at a campsite there to have access to electricity. Tomorrow, we will probably have to look for a workshop.
