Since Tomar is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal, we naturally started the day with a city tour. The marketplace with the church and the town hall is quite beautiful, and the Jewish quarter with the small synagogue is quite charming with its narrow streets and small houses. The rest didn't impress us much, except for the Templar Church (started construction in 1162) and the adjacent Church of Christ (started construction in 1515). It was worth climbing up the hill for that. The buildings are still in very good condition.
Afterwards, we drove about 100 km towards home. However, we had some difficulties finding a suitable place to stay tonight. So, once again, we're parked in front of a castle (which we'll surely visit tomorrow :-)).
Today was cool and rainy, with a temperature of 13 degrees. Tomorrow, the sun is expected to shine again.
