Middle Ages on the Baroque Road - Visit to Wangen

In the morning, we said goodbye to the ostrich farm under curious gazes and drove to Wangen.

The entire old town here is preserved as a monument ensemble.

We began our tour in Herrengasse with its magnificent houses.

Three treasure hunts from “Adventure Labs” guided us through the streets of the town center. 

Alongside old houses, we also saw various richly decorated “nose signs” that tell visitors something about the original use of the house or its inhabitants.

Around the old town flows the Arge, on whose banks we saw the “Flood Duck”, which commemorates the century flood of 1999.

We strolled a little further along the river and arrived at the former site of the state horticultural show from the previous year.

Beautifully laid out flower beds and seating areas as well as a lookout tower can still be seen.

We returned to the city through the Martinstor.

As heavy rain set in, we made our way back to the parking lot by bus after a short visit to the Gothic parish church of St. Martin.
