In the morning, we traveled to Castle Pontillac, which is very close to Le Puy-en-Velay.

There was an engaging audio guide that could be downloaded to one's own phone (in English and French).
This guide entertainingly reported on life in the Middle Ages and in the castle.
In two rooms, there were medieval games, of which we also tried some.
The keep is restored and can be visited and climbed.
From the top, we enjoyed the view and pitied the guards who had to walk the many steps daily.
