Today we almost encountered a poisonous snake. About 10m away from where we were sitting on a bench, a young woman was startled as a brown snake, about 1m long, crossed her path and disappeared into the bushes in front of her. She couldn't say which snake it was. She was cautious, didn't continue on that path, and took a small detour. Later, we met her again. This time she had a paddle with her. I asked her if she knew what kind of snake it was. She couldn't say, but she could describe it - about 1m long, brown, and a white belly. Later on the circular path, we passed by a sign with an illustration of the snake and an explanatory text. It revealed that it was a venomous snake that you usually don't encounter unless you leave the designated paths. But in Downunder, there's always an exception to every rule!'
After this experience, we moved more cautiously through the area.
Just now, we went swimming in the sea! Me! And of course, Stephanie too. It was really nice and not cold at all. The last photos show exactly where we were in the water. It somehow doesn't fit with the knowledge that today is the 5th of December...
