Today the weather is better, which is already evident from looking at the photos. What you can't see is that it's quite chilly. We went to the same beach as yesterday after our arrival.
On the way back, we took some nice photos because Stephanie fed old bread to seagulls and swans. The swans didn't get anything. The seagulls were just more and faster.
The swans here are mostly black. A nice change for our eyes.
One more addition to last night: this motel has its own restaurant. We ate there. You place your order for the food at the cashier. Starters, main course, and dessert. Then you pay immediately. For drinks, you have to go to the bar, order, pay, and get served the drinks, which you take to your table. When ordering the food, you had to provide the table number. Everything ordered is served together, so in our case, the starter and main course. At the neighboring table, a man devoured a large plate of pasta with meat sauce (at least it looked like it) in no more than three minutes, then started on his dessert: two slices of cream cake and ice cream. That also went very quickly...
We didn't stay there for long either...
Some may have already noticed: Our enthusiasm for Australia has not really been awakened yet. Sydney was great, even though the hustle and bustle there became too much for us. But the encounter with Claudia, Darren, and Marcus was very nice.
There are probably several reasons for the hesitant enthusiasm: 5 weeks (almost 6) on tour are exhausting. Huge distances drain you. New Zealand is smaller, more compact, and more diverse in a smaller area. And what may count most: perhaps we have chosen the wrong route. Next week we will fly from Melbourne to Perth, where we will be for about 2 more weeks before flying back from there. We don't really like the at least 1000 km from Sydney to Melbourne so far. We'll see how it will be in Perth and the surrounding area.
