AMAZONAS- Part 2

It was not my intention for my last part to be so reflective, as the weekend was anything but sad!

But sometimes it's good to let these thoughts go:)

So it continues on day two, Saturday, when we traveled in the evening to a large lagoon after visiting the indigenous tribe, where I also swam!

The water was really pleasantly warm, and there were many tourists. Boats there to enjoy the sunset.

In the evening we went on a night walk through the jungle! It was less exciting than expected, as we only saw a few beetles and a spider, and not, as hoped, a few snakes.

However, the starry sky that welcomed us was even more beautiful!

We returned over the lagoon and saw the starry sky in 180°! It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen :)

I love stargazing, and we took a lot of time to analyze the individual constellations. It was truly magical, as everyone on the boat listened in awe to the guide, and I would say that in that moment, the world stood still for just a moment!

With these impressions, we returned to the lodge, where we all fell into bed, tired but happy from all the experiences.

On the last full day, Sunday, we took a jungle hike on foot, mainly to look at the fauna. We trudged through the so-called mud forest, where we almost sank knee-deep in the mud. During the hike, we saw some monkeys and many frogs.

We also tried the so-called Lemon Ants, which taste sour when you put them on your tongue :)

In between, we swung like Tarzan on vines and then paddled back to the lodge in a canoe.

In the evening we stayed together for a long time and shared stories about the beautiful experiences.

On Monday, we sadly headed early back towards Quito, as the journey back was long! First by boat and then another 10-hour bus ride really exhausted me, but I still returned to Quito feeling incredibly happy and euphoric!

I had never felt so isolated from civilization as I did here in the Amazon jungle in Ecuador! I was a bit apprehensive about this before the trip, as we are used to being at least a little reachable. However, I found that it did me incredibly good, and I engaged much more with myself and my thoughts! Of course, I would have wanted to tell my family and friends about all of this right away, but it was nice to live completely in the moment and have so much time to think :)

Maybe this is something I can inspire you with back home in Germany! It's important to turn off your phone completely sometimes and not always be available for everyone :) I will definitely make it a point to not use my phone for whole days and focus more on others :)

So that was the adventure in the jungle!

There is still so much more to tell, but I can't capture it all here in this blog. So this was more of a short version.

Still, I hope you could empathize a little and I'm still very glad that so many enjoy reading my blog :)
