MY TRAVEL EXPERIENCE

Have you ever wanted to explore untouched nature? El Tuparro National Natural Park is one of Colombia’s most impressive natural treasures, located in Vichada in the Orinoco region. It is famous for its vast tropical savannahs, crystal-clear rivers, ancient rock formations, and extraordinary biodiversity.

During my visit, I felt amazed by the peaceful atmosphere and the sound of the wind across the plains. One afternoon, I watched the sunset over the savannah, and it was one of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. The experience made me appreciate Colombia’s natural richness even more.

WHERE TO GO?

You must visit Raudal de Maipures, also known as the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World,’ because of its powerful rapids and spectacular views. You can explore the Tomo River by boat and observe animals such as capybaras, pink river dolphins, and exotic birds.
Another highlight is hiking to natural viewpoints where you can admire the vast Orinoco River and the impressive rock formations. Taking a guided tour will help you learn more about the ecosystem and the indigenous cultures of the region.

WHAT TO DO & TRAVEL TIPS

Visitors can go hiking through the savannah, birdwatching to see species like scarlet macaws, and camping under the stars. Boat tours along the rivers are perfect for photography and wildlife observation.

For a safe trip, bring sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent, and enough water. You must respect nature by not leaving trash behind, and you should hire a local guide to ensure safety and support the local community.
