Here we are again ;-)

After we set off very early in the morning towards the airport (the last picture shows a view from the hotel window), we arrived safely in Punta Arenas, that is, Patagonia.

The weather here changes frequently; sometimes it rains a bit, mostly the sun shines - but there is always a breeze.

Today we visited Marta Island (a sea lion colony) and Magdalena Island.

Here, thousands of Magellanic penguins live. You can walk past them on marked paths, but they always have the right of way. This means a 2m distance must be maintained.

Penguins live in pairs for life. Each year, the female lays 2 eggs in an underground nest. The chicks hatch in December, but can only be seen in January. By February, it’s time: they have lost their fluff, can go into the water, and soon leave their parents.

Additionally, various bird species live on Magdalena Island, and the seagulls currently have chicks too.

Tomorrow we are heading to Tierra del Fuego to visit a colony of king penguins. Tierra del Fuego belongs to Argentina and is also referred to as the end of the world.
