Sometimes a rest day can be almost more tiring than a travel day. After all, time is not just for resting! I chose the apartment here in Linz because it has a washing machine. Finally, a chance to wash my clothes again.
However, of course, I also want to see and experience something. For me, that means covering several kilometers on foot. During yesterday's evening stroll and today's day hike to Pöstlingberg and through Linz, I covered over 15 kilometers and more than 300 meters of elevation. An effort that was worth it and gave me many new insights into a city I did not know at all before.
If you look at my photos, you can see a bit of that too.
The Ars Electronica Center is illuminated in the evening with thousands of LEDs in all colors.
I conquered Pöstlingberg on foot; it's a very steep climb. To also experience the steepest adhesion railway in the world, I chose not to walk back down. The ascent is approximately 220 meters of elevation. It’s a Stations of the Cross, which is also its name.
The Mariendom is the largest church in Austria, and it certainly should not be missing from my tour.
