Although grandfather Sebastian was already praised in the last post, he gets his own article here.
During our stay in Vanuatu, due to the relatively short time, we didn't expect anyone to make the long journey to visit us. But for Michel's dad Sebastian it was very clear that he wanted to take the opportunity to fly to the South Pacific again. After a few conversations with his wife, it became clear that he would have to fly alone. Antje decided against this long flight for environmental reasons.
This is how Grandfather did on November 25th. on the way. After a stop in Dubai, he spent one night in Singapore and two nights in Sydney. On November 30th, the Air Vanuatu flight landed in Port Vila on time and Sebastian quietly crept into his room around 1 a.m. and fell into bed. Thanks to the jet lag, he was on the mat with the boys and me at 5 a.m. and we started the day together. At the first coffee, Grandfather reported on his trip and shortly afterwards we jumped into the pool. Pepe was so happy to have another playing partner and so we were able to split up the next few days or go on little trips around the area. Sebastian also took care of the household chores so that everything was always done quickly and there was more time for the good things. After the weekend, Michel finally came back from the Solomon Islands. He had brought a little something for everyone and had a lot to say. The next few days continued to be dominated by everyday life and we planned a little trip to Pele (a small island in the north of Efate) for the last week before Grandfather had to go home again. When the time came, I got sick and we had to cancel the overnight stays. That was a real shame, because the really big adventure had been a little neglected for him so far. But we found a good solution together and booked him a bushwalk that day, which was full of great information about Vanuatu's flora. The next day he took a trip with Michel and Pepe to the north of Efate on the island of Nguna. There is an extinct volcano there that you can hike up. The three of them did this and came back in the evening very excited about the hike, the snorkeling and the nice people. Anton and I slept a lot and I otherwise breastfed myself through the day. After the 2 weeks alone, my breastfeeding frequency was still quite high anyway, so one day didn't matter ;)
2 days later we took Grandpa to the airport and we were really sad to let him go after the weeks that had passed so quickly.
We are all fit again now, we are breastfeeding less, we now have a car for the last few weeks and Christmas is just around the corner.
I hope that I will write the next article about our sunny Christmas relatively soon and then I'll be back in time :)
