There's always something.

Friday, May 8th.
From Oranienbaum to Beelitz
The start of the second week of the tour.
While I am still taking down the equipment, Dave is already busy fixing his tire.
He does it very efficiently, his work with the youth is probably helpful, and soon everything is done, off we go.
The weather report keeps its promises, and in overcast and dry conditions, we cycle through the area.
Today is going well, and we are making good progress.
The landscape is so varied, and the paths to be cycled are so diverse, that it's hard to adequately describe all the different impressions.
For this, the pictures must suffice and be enough to give a sense of insight.
Today, we again encounter some well-developed paths, which mainly lead through long stretches of forest.
Now and then, we find country roads, passing fields and through a few towns.
Notably, many roads run straight for kilometers.
Where there are no topographical restrictions, the shortest connection ...
It feels like we can always see where we will be in ten minutes.
It gives us a Swedish impression.
Extensive coniferous forests, the straight roads, and quaint cabins by the lakes.
Still in the morning, we pass Ferropolis With Full Force.
Short stop at the gravel pit lake, reminiscing about past festivals.
In the beautiful Luther city of Wittenberg, we take another break at the marketplace. Coffee and pastries, and the supplies are replenished as well.
It’s pleasing for us that the paths are getting better again.
Even though we still carry the impressions from yesterday. The differences between the various states are quite stark.
All day long, we have been coming across shelters that make a solid impression. So we return to our plan from yesterday, to spend the night in one. We aimed for shelters yesterday, but gave up due to the quality and lack of trust in the constructions.
Today, we are hopeful and continue to cycle cheerfully.
Whether it's the dry weather, the quality of the paths, the lack of elevation (at the end of the day it's +-0) ... Probably a combination of everything, and after over 120km, we arrive at a shelter.
Although, beside a few joggers, an ambulance and emergency doctor with emergency lights come through the forest, which makes us a bit uncertain about our spot choice, in the end, we stay, despite the unexpected traffic.
Good decision, after the hammocks are set up, we wish ourselves a good night, satisfied and bundled up warm.
Song of the day:
Zombiez - Zatan lives (Full Force '24)
