Belém Tower

The Belém Tower (German: Turm von Belém) in the district of Belém at the mouth of the Tagus is one of the most famous landmarks of Lisbon. Along with the nearby Jerónimos Monastery, the tower is one of the few outstanding buildings in the Manueline style that survived the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. The top floor of the tower, which is 35 meters high and exposed, is now an observation deck.
