Get out of Bangkok

A slightly different day. The alarm clock rang at 8 a.m. After all, 5 hours of sleep is enough. Before we left our accommodation, we paid a visit to our rooftop pool. The cooling down woke us up and felt incredibly good. The question is why we didn't come up with the idea of starting the day like this earlier.

After our backpacks were full again, we paid one last visit to our favorite café. After coffee and sandwiches we went to a Thai massage parlor. This was only 50m away. A full body massage for one hour cost around €9. First our feet were washed by 2 lovely Thai women, then we were allowed to lie next to each other on 2 mattresses, dressed in brown rags provided. This was followed by vigorous kneading, clapping and stretching (with full physical effort from the Thai women) on our entire bodies. Completely different than what we both learned in our physiotherapy training. The best part was the head massage. We felt very relaxed and relaxed - until we put our heavy backpacks back on. We had to make our way to get our booked night bus at the bus station.

The path there turned out to be more complicated than expected. But eventually we managed it. Hungry, we reached the very run-down bus station, where we were immediately intercepted by two people who wanted to sell us a ticket. But we quickly got rid of them. Looking for vegetarian food we thought we would go hungry today. When we asked at any of the stalls whether they had “veggie food” or “vegetarian”, we only got quizzical looks, as a lot of people here don’t seem to speak a word of English. After a disappointing search, the sign of a pizzeria flashed at us. We got the vegetarian pizza offered in size S for €3.60. There were very hot chilies on it that burned all the bacteria out of our throats. Sated, we went to check-in. Now we sit on the bus for the next 11 hours to hopefully arrive in Krabi. The seats are more than comfortable and there is a lot of legroom. We are a bit worried about the honking and sudden braking. Well, we now have Ronja's lucky stones with us.

“Two ✌🏼 Mai Tai” - Nina actually meant “To Tai Mai” (bus station)
“Niiiina, Niiiina!!” Ronja shouted desperately from outside while her backpack was being loaded. She didn't understand the man who was throwing Thai words at her. “Come in, he just wants to flirt with you,” said Nina very dryly.

Until tomorrow
