Today we leave Hammerfest, heading towards Polmak. First, we travel over beautiful mountains, along stunning fjords. Following the Tana River, which features lonely, almost uninhabited landscapes, we make our way to Polmak.
Polmak ( Norwegian), Buolbmát ( Northern Sami ) or Pulmanki ( Kven) [ is a village in the municipality of Tana in the province Finnmark in Norway. The village is located on the southern bank of the Tana River, immediately east of the border with Finland(and at the northernmost point of Finland). In the village, you will find the Polmak Church.
We will spend the next two nights with Nils Andreas Niarga in a cozy little house.
Nils Andreas Njarga (born March 6, 1939) is a Norwegian who worked as a teacher in Karasjok, program secretary at NRK Sámi Radio, and a farmer in Polmak, Tana. He is also the owner of 'Tana Regnskapskontor AS'
