Today the parents met for the last time before departure. Tomorrow we, the youths, will see each other once more before we set off. We will be celebrating three birthdays in Norfolk! And tomorrow we will learn more about the families we will be joining. The meeting of the parents was very beneficial for everyone. Who has thought of everything? 'Adapters, international phone credits, suitcase tracker?' It’s also a good idea to keep the receipts of the 'shopping treasures,' preferably all together, so there are no issues when leaving in early August. And it certainly makes sense to check the phones once more; we don’t want any cute satirical photos of the current US president on them;-) Important once again for everyone, especially during immigration at the entire airport area: It's best to keep phones completely off. No taking photos or filming! This part of the arrival will be a sensitive area in these politically turbulent times.
Then it begins: our certainly unforgettable time in Norfolk. Everyone is excited. It’s a big adventure. Knowing that the flight is leaving soon. Three weeks with a family we do not yet know, three weeks in a group that has only met a few times. Three weeks away from home.
Thanks to Corinna and Albert! It’s simply unbelievably wonderful that you are doing this! Setting off with us, though not really knowing us. If everything goes as well as the confidence you exude, it can only turn out great! And how beautifully Bernhard Köster said it: ‘Especially in this time, this exchange makes perfect sense!’
