From Eschwege, the route took us to Schenklengsfeld today. You don't have to know Schenklengsfeld, but supposedly the oldest linden tree in Germany is located here. But this place has a special meaning for us. Last year, during our tour from Cologne to Zittau, we stayed overnight at the Gasthof zur Linde here.
It was not as warm as the day before, and there was a relatively strong east wind blowing, so even though the sun was shining brightly, we had to wear a vest all day. The wind also caused our map to accidentally fall into the Werra during our lunch break. But we were able to save it and dry it with tissue paper and the wind. Today, we already got a taste of the fact that Germany is more mountainous in the south than in the north. We have already tackled all 21 gears. Tomorrow it will get a little more challenging.
