Today we will go to the Muonio town in the afternoon at -21°, walk to the church and visit the Swiss bakery. It was founded about 15 years ago by a Swiss couple and spreads...

This morning it's -31°! The sky is clear and we decide not to go cross-country skiing today. We just don't trust ourselves in this cold. In the morning, we work on our pictures a bit and at noon we march to a lake, well wrapped up (the temperature has hardly risen).

The sun is shining and it's bitterly cold!
Then we treat ourselves to a walk into the village - or rather to the beloved Swiss pastry shop. Past the typical wooden houses - here there are simply no brick houses - which seem rather modest compared to many single-family homes back home.


Self-service coffee and cake, which is common everywhere here, and a little warm up - that feels good! Then it's "homeward" again. Everything freezes immediately: tears from watery eyes, damp beard from breathing...


Auroras are predicted for tonight. We have to go quite far to have an unobstructed view of the sky without light... hopefully it's worth it - temperatures around -30° are forecasted again.
