On the evening after returning from our excursion to the North Cape, the next highlight was already waiting for us: a murder mystery dinner with the promising title “Murder at the Cliff’s Edge.” Naturally, we were curious to find out what was in store. We had received the menu three days earlier in our cabin, and simply reading it had already made our mouths water. It promised to be an evening that was equally culinary and criminal.

As we happily worked our way through a delicious multi-course menu, a murder case unfolded between the courses. Four actors took on a whole range of different roles, providing plenty of suspense as well as laughter. Our mission was to identify ten classic movies and TV shows cleverly woven into the story—and, of course, to unmask the culprit.

The game was played in teams of six per table. Together, we debated, theorized, accused innocent bystanders, and generally acted like seasoned detectives. Unfortunately, our investigative talents were not quite enough to secure victory. At least we now know that a future career in criminal investigation is probably not on the cards for us.

The following day, we arrived in Tromsø. In the morning, we explored the city on a panoramic bus tour and got a wonderful first impression of the “Capital of the Arctic.” The afternoon, however, had other plans for us: rain. Rather than wandering around the city with umbrellas and damp socks, we opted for the onboard entertainment instead—a decision we certainly didn’t regret.

That evening, things became lively once again. The decks around the various bars were transformed for the “St. Pauli Party.” We found ourselves a cozy spot in one of the bars, ordered a few excellent cocktails, and relaxed while watching the colorful festivities unfold around us. One thing is certain: the people on board definitely know how to celebrate!

When we finally returned to our cabin shortly before midnight, we were greeted by a sight that outshone any party: the famous Midnight Sun. The sky glowed in warm shades of gold and orange, and the sun was still hanging above the horizon as if it had completely forgotten that quitting time existed. Even at three o’clock in the morning, it was still shining brightly through the curtains, making it abundantly clear that it has very little respect for the concept of a good night’s sleep.

Now, two more sea days lie ahead of us—today and tomorrow—before we reach our final port of call: Stavanger. We’re excited to see what surprises await us until then. After all, this journey has already proven beyond doubt that boredom simply doesn’t stand a chance here.
