12.12.2018 2days in capetown
Back again
I have one other guy in my room thats a bit older. Nothing wrong with that, if his snoring just didnt sound like he's about to die. He keeps on making these weird little 'aghga' 'hmgmmag' pain noises and its quite disturbing.
In the mornig me and lea had breakfast in the hostel. After that we went up to signal hill with craig. It was a nice view over cape town and craig told us all about its history. He wants to become a tour guide next year so thats why he is training. We wanted to paraglide aswell but the wind up there was to strong today.
Back at the hostel lea finished packing and after a while got ready to leave to the airport. Craig and me helped her with the luggage and then we said goodbye. Craig then drove her to the airport.
I still had a lot of the day left so I decided to go to table top mountain. Though I already had a view over capetown I didnt know what else to do since I will see most things on my tours in the next few days.
With an uber I drove to the cable car that went up the mountain. They told me there was currently a giant cloud hovering over the mountain so you couldnt see anything. Since I didnt just wanted to drive back and do nothing I still decided to do it.
The cable car was pretty cool, it had a turning floor so you could see everyside while standing still.
At the top it was cold, windy, wet and surprisingly cloudy. There was really a giant cloud covering the hole mountain. Still I decided to start walking around.
And I walked for quite a while, there were just a few other freethinking, poetic, openminded and very idiotic people like me at the top aswell. Winner so far was the cool guy with the tatoos who was wearing sunglasses to protect his eyes from the dangerous cloud light...
With nobody around I jumped and climbed along the edge, strayed from the path to explore and enjoyed my time. I took a short break to eat a left over croissant I had and also to make clapping sounds to hear them echo through the mountains. While I was sitting there two other idiots passed me and they asked if I knew where the cable car was.
The view in this fog was quite limited and it was easy to loose orientation but loosing the cable car?? These men were two amazing exampels of male evolution. So I told them the direction and continued my break.
After some time, when my clapping got stiff because of my hands being too cold to move and my hair started to drip from the moist in the air I decided to head back.
However when I reached the point where the cable car should be it wasnt there. In fact I was just standing at another edge of the mountain. So of course the cable car might have been stolen by aliens or made invisible by powerful magic or maybe I just got lost.
So continued following the egde and looking for a path and it took me a while to find back to it. But I eventually did. At the cable car I waited around for a bit then I was suddenly joined by a rock dassie. These animals were running around up her in small numbers and had lost all their fear from humans.
We talked for a bit but in the end he was just interested in the leftover fry on my table. After that I was getting really cold now after I spent nearly 2 hours up here so I decided to go back down.
I called an uber and went back to the hostel, here I looked again at table top mountain and saw that a strong wind was clearing all the fog away now. Just after I left 15minutes ago...
So yea to make myself happy again I went to Tigers milk for some ribs. It was very full today so I just got a little table in the corner. I ordered the 600grams portion this time with oniom rings and fries again.
Sadly it wasnt as good today as the last time.
So back in the hostel I showered and then spent some time watching videos until it was time to go to bed. Tomorrow I am going on the first tour I booked.
