The next day, we cover the last km between us and the city of Taupo. Since we didn't walk enough the day before :) we decided to take the walkway to the Huka Falls. Another 2 hours on the way. The sight compensates us somewhat - although they would look just as beautiful from the car park :)

This time we set up our overnight camp at a free campground, surrounded by many like-minded people on the beach of the Waikato River near the Huka Falls. There, we enjoy the last warm rays of sun on the shore before we withdraw to Regina (sounds kind of strange :))
