It takes a while this morning until we get going. In the afternoon we drive to the thermal pools in Waikite. The pools are fed by a spring from which 98 degree hot water gushes. It is ideal weather to relax in this beautiful place. One pool is called Pergola. From there, we have a fantastic view of a valley and mountains with overgrown giant ferns, palms, blooming bushes. Completely relaxed and warmed up after the rainy day, we continue driving. Overnight in a small village near Wai-o-tapu Wonderland.
