21.11.-24.11.18 Cairns and the Rainforest Village Kuranda

After Ines went to her job in Melbourne, I spent a few more days in Cairns. There isn't much to see or do in Cairns, but the hostel was very cheap and offered a super good breakfast... So it was obvious for me to stay a few more days. 😁 I mainly rested from the past few weeks... Traveling can be quite exhausting 😅, especially because we saw so much in such a short time.

I spent almost all the days lying and swimming at the lagoon and then I did some shopping. I also took care of a 'job'. 😊 I decided to go back to Agnes Water and work in the hostel there. In exchange for working at the hostel, you get free accommodation... I came up with the idea because I was looking for a place where I would like to spend Christmas... And I really liked this place on the trip, especially because the hostel was so familiar.

I want to start there on December 1st.

On Saturday, November 24th, I took a tour to Kuranda. I had read about the Skyrail (a cable car over the rainforest) and really wanted to take a ride on it. So I took the Skyrail to Kuranda, had a few hours there, and then took an ancient railway back to Cairns. I really enjoyed the tour! The Skyrail was impressive! It stopped twice and you could walk on a small wooden path through the rainforest. In Kuranda, I walked around some beautiful markets and visited the village a bit... Unfortunately, it was really hot that day and I didn't feel like going on long hikes. I found the journey a bit boring... The train was so slow! But overall it was a nice excursion and a nice way to end Cairns. 👍😊
