The long flight

Lufthansa does not skimp on quality. The ticket was only half as expensive as with Condor, but the food is 5x better: 4 dinner menus to choose from and 2 for breakfast, while Condor only had an apple pastry.

The (aging) queen of airplanes glides almost silently through the air. Air vortices cushion her before they reach her passengers. She is nearing 30, which is quite a lot for an aircraft (Jumbo Jet). This is noticeable in the technology: I can't use my wireless headphones or charge any devices.

My neighbor is a French father who predominantly sleeps. I also sleep a lot, though not continuously.

I am extraordinarily exhausted and, as usual, it takes me several attempts to find my hotel, and that only with the help of a restaurant owner.

In the subway, I hear a father saying that they will go to an island after a few days. As it turns out, there is an island just 45 minutes by ferry away that belongs to Indonesia. I want to go there soon, too.
