Hello dear ones, you haven't heard from me in a long time and I think it's time to change that.
After Christmas and New Year's Eve, not much spectacular happened in Perth. I was still trying to find a job, but I was quite unsuccessful. Partly due to the limited time I had left, partly due to my lack of motivation. I was weeding in the garden center on Thursdays and Fridays, and on Mondays I was bottling at the Hopped up Brewery, but that was about it and kept me afloat. The remaining days I did various things with different people. The most important ones were Marco and Sean from Paderborn, two wonderful people who arrived in Perth at about the same time as I did. We spent a lot of time in the city, sometimes working together, especially later, and we also lived in the same room. The next noteworthy person was Luis, a bearded German with whom I could have wonderful conversations about God and the world and everything else. And Maddy from the Bush Party was still visiting the hostel from time to time and always ready for a few beers and go partying. Just like a whole bunch of French people I was hanging out with often.
And then there was Peter. Peter is German, has been living in Perth for 13 years and has been on the street for a few of them. Super nice guy, not stupid at all, but unfortunately got stuck with Crystal Meth for a long time after he couldn't work anymore for health reasons. But he doesn't want to go back to Germany. So January passed quickly and February 9th came, my flight date for Bali, where I would finally see my Clara again.
And enough of the words. I'm sitting on the plane to Fiji with Clara and we're about to take off. If you have any questions about my time in Perth, please feel free to use the comment function, and otherwise you probably also have my number or Facebook. (WhatsApp is not working right now, but I'll see if I can get it up and running again)
This is the last article in this blog. From now on, there will be a new one, together with Clara. In this one, we would like to keep you up to date on our experiences in the future.
In the next 24 days, you can definitely look forward to a daily story from the time we have spent together so far.
