Today we finally went to school: it's called Delaware Academy and it was very exciting and interesting.
Many things there are similar to Germany, but some things are also quite different:
- Elementary school goes up to the 5th grade and starts as early as kindergarten
- All children are picked up by bus from home
- There is much more staff: specialists for support teaching, physical therapists, a nurse
- Sports are super important
- Classes are much smaller (only 16!)
I was allowed to participate in a third-grade class and did math and sports. It was fun!
