5.11.18 Ranthambore - Jaipur

Published: 05.11.2018

On the morning we went on a tiger hunt again. Just before the park entrance we were stopped because we had a flat tire. Nine minutes later, we were able to continue our hunting. However, the tiger did not show itself to us. Instead, we saw two sloth bears (similar to coatis), which according to the guide is very rare, they see them about once a month. The leopard only showed itself to us from a distance, but the deer were more generous. On the way, we were actually stopped by a second flat tire, but this was quickly fixed thanks to a borrowed tire from another car. At the park exit, we saw some monkeys, even with their babies. Watching the monkeys is always very entertaining.

After returning and having a delicious breakfast, including scrambled eggs, poached eggs, and lots of papaya, we had to leave this fairytale place.

Our journey continues to Jaipur, also known as the pink city because most of the buildings are painted in a delicate pink. At first, we drove through rural areas, with bad roads and poverty on both sides, and then into urban areas. The difference between poor, rural areas and slightly wealthier cities is clearly visible, even though it is natural for cows to roam apparently ownerless in the middle of the road in the middle of the city. Ramesh safely drove us through Jaipur in nearly 4 hours, where we were met by the local guide again. After checking in, we were able to relax by the pool.

We were given a lot of attention during dinner. When the chef asked if everything was okay, Vanessa noticed that the pasta on the buffet was unfortunately cold. The chef was very sorry about this and both of us were served a customized menu, freshly prepared pasta for Vanessa and freshly grilled fish for me...yummy delicious.
