After a sensational breakfast, Patrick and I said goodbye to each other at the base station of the Titlis cable car. I took the small train towards Trübsee, while Patrick decided to walk as a little warm-up before his flight to Brazil, so that he could arrive back home on time. I started at Trübsee and first marched towards Jochpass, always with a view of the Titlis glacier. From the pass, I continued via Engstlensee, Engstlenalp towards Tannalp and Tannsee. From there, the view opens up towards Melchseefrutt. I can tell that it's Sunday, as there are many hikers on the trail. From Tannsee, I climb up to the first peak on this tour, Balmeregghorn. Then I continue towards Planplatten, which is the connection towards Hasliberg. The trail is a beautiful ridge path, going up and down, but I am rewarded with stunning views in all directions: Susten Pass, Trift Glacier, Gauli Glacier, all the way to Schilthorn and the Jura Mountains. After 6 hours, I have completed this long stage with a distance of about 24 km and an elevation gain of 1100 meters. Consequently, my legs are feeling tired. The cable car takes me to Meiringen after enjoying a gelato with a view in Reuti, where I head straight to Hotel Meiringen to check-in. After a short break, Simone arrives by train and she will accompany me on the next two stages. Together, we have a cozy dinner with pizza for strength, before I fall into bed completely exhausted. Today's stage was a true highlight in terms of the views.
