Today morning we wake up with a view of a small piece of the Empire State Building, in New York. We go to breakfast early, we want to experience something. To anticipate, New York did not disappoint me. The AIDA is perfectly located at Pier 90 on the Hudson River, approximately on 50th Street, right in the middle of the action. First, we took the subway and went straight to Downtown. In an extensive walk, we admired skyscrapers and older churches. Our starting and ending point was the One World, for which we already had tickets, thanks to a small surcharge we had priority tickets and could bypass the line. The 360-degree view of New York is indescribable and is also perfectly staged in typical American fashion. Thanks to our tickets, we enjoyed a cappuccino on the 102nd floor. Downstairs again, the visit to Ground Zero was naturally a must. Still unimaginable what must have happened in these streets back then. We continued our explorations with a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. We were not the only ones with this idea on Saturday afternoon. But the view of the skyline was worth it. We took a short walk in Brooklyn before returning to the ship via subway after a snack of muffin and whoopie. I had a little mishap, our subway did not stop at the intended station. No problem, new attempt, one stop back and the problem was solved. On the ship, we enjoyed the sauna with a view of the skyline before ending the last evening as usual with a party Rummicube in the AIDA Bar.
