We are exploring Chiang Mai

For the past 3 days, we have been in the far north. No cooling down! During the day, temperatures here also reach over 30 degrees. And there are significantly more mosquitoes than in Bangkok or on the eastern islands. It seems that the little pests prefer my blood. While I have already received some mosquito bites, they stay away from Nora! Better that way than the other way around!

Yesterday evening, we took a guided tour of some important temples. Mind you, there is no shortage of temples here, there are over 200 in the city area!

The ones that were shown to us were located high up on a hilltop! Seeing the temple complex in the dark was impressive. Everything was illuminated and shone in the brightest colors! We even had a brief encounter with a monk living there and received "his blessing". I don't know the exact religious meaning of this gesture, but it felt special. Nora was also quite impressed!

From the viewpoint, we could enjoy a spectacular view over the city!
