An afternoon in Bangkok

Wow - Bangkok! Big, crowded, complex, noisy, but still manageable! However, I have to admit that without Yvonne (currently we are traveling with a friend and her 4-year-old son) I would have failed at the train station! What the Thais lack in English skills (usually it's not the vocabulary that's the problem, but the pronunciation), they make up for with friendliness! A questioning look from us and help was immediately offered to us!

So we also reached Lumpini Park. But because it took us a little longer to cross the street unharmed (traffic lights are apparently just recommendations, but not a must), it was already almost dark when we reached the park, so we didn't have much time to stroll around. It was then time to continue to the night market.....a real experience for a German country bumpkin :-) Stand after stand as far as the eye can see. And instinctively we ended up in the aisle with all the food! :-)) Oh, how it smelled! However, I didn't dare to eat anything (yet). I guess I still need to work on myself!

So far, Nora is very excited and yet somehow unaffected. But she is having a great time! By the way, her first meal on Thai soil was Chicken Nuggets with fries! :-)))
