Next visit - Guernanville - September 25th

Published: 07.10.2019

It's a really difficult question... but what's the weather like the next morning?... Any idea...? Right, it's raining... I don't want rain anymore... I want to sit outside in front of the frog in Frogland and enjoy my coffee and a delicious breakfast...! I go to the cozy sanitary house to take a shower. It works, but the water runs out when I have my mouth full of toothpaste and look like I have rabies. So I change the sink again and luckily manage to rinse my mouth. Then Jörni tries his luck and comes back roaring... no water at all... the showers are supposed to be free, but the chip we received (for which we paid an additional tenner deposit) doesn't work properly anymore! The mood is great! Jörni decides to skip the shower and we quickly decide to leave here. I inform the receptionist that the showers didn't really work, but it's simply ignored... we get our deposit back and make a run for it. No coffee in the morning again...! So on the way, we make a stop at McDoof and order a delicious coffee. I realize that you can't order regular burgers at 10 o'clock, only breakfast stuff... that's different for us, right? You can eat a Big Mac at 8 o'clock in the morning! So we have a breakfast burger and enjoy the latte before we hit the road. Our next destination is Guernanville, about 230 km away, where my dear dad is on a short vacation with Gerlinde. It's raining almost the whole time during the drive, of course! We reach Guernanville around 2 pm. A tiny village in the middle of nowhere in France, feels like there are only two inhabitants... but I think there are at least 100...! The vacation house... no, cottage is an absolute dream. It is located at the end of a huge garden, with old trees and many fruit trees. It seems to be the former stable of the property. The main house is also amazing, and we would love to buy the whole property and the buildings right away...! We enjoy a tasty coffee and fine French pastries... mmmmm... the French know how to make them... delicious! In the early afternoon, we naturally toast with beers and wines to the reunion and sit outside in the beautiful garden... without rain... great! In the evening, we are treated to a delicious meal and have delicious fish in a fine sauce with pasta and salad... a feast! We haven't had that in ages...! We sit together for a long time and go to bed around midnight, it was lovely!

The next morning, we are greeted with a superb breakfast and the weather is also great, wonderful! I still use the fast free internet and around noon we hit the road again. Vatter and Gerlinde take a trip to Rouen before they both return home the next day.

We received the tip from them to visit Honfleur, where they were shortly before.

Alright, let's go!
