Penultimate day - last planned excursion - that's why our alarm clock rang at 3:30 AM. The day before, we booked a tour to the famous white sand dunes of Mui Ne, where we want to ride the quad bike at sunrise. So our driver was punctual, with a former military jeep, in front of the hotel.
Not very powerful, but with the right driver, still a race car 🙈😂 We reached the dunes around 5 AM, where our quad bike was already waiting for us.
It was really fun to zoom over the dunes, and the sunrise created a dreamy atmosphere. At the latest, getting up early was worth it for that!
From the dunes, we continued to the "Rodelbahn" of the Vietnamese. On the small dunes, made of red sand, children and adults gather to slide down the dunes on plastic mats. However, this usually works less well and very slowly. For anyone who has ever been sledding, this is a rather sleepy activity. But for many Asians, this is an incredible adrenaline rush.
From there, we continued to the "Fishing Village" of Mui Ne's fishing bay. Here, the fishermen sell their goods - that's why it smells like fish. In general, the bay is very dirty, and once again, it is evident that the Vietnamese have a different way of handling animals and food than we Europeans do. Sometimes the fish are lying in the blazing sun, and no one here cares about dead puppies on the beach. Nevertheless, it was interesting to see how the Vietnamese go fishing in such small boats and still generate a good yield.
That was already the end of our excursion. Back at the hotel, we treated ourselves to a decent breakfast and relaxed by the pool for the rest of the day.
