Eeh ab in den Süden, der Sonne hinterher, ejo was geht...

Published: 16.09.2017

After checking out early this morning so that I can catch my Intercity bus at 9, Lea said goodbye to me at the bus.

A new adventure is starting for me now.

I'm currently heading to Hunterville, in the south. (8 hours drive)

It's quite nice, I'm passing by many places where I've been in the last week and I always think to myself, 'ah there's where we ate wraps recently and there's where the ducks bothered us'. 😁😁

By the way, it's raining a lot here.

It reminds me of London, it rains a little every 15 minutes. Luckily, I'm on the bus.

By the way, it's really nice to be alone right now.

I'm not in the mood to meet new people. You keep meeting people all the time, I can't even stand hearing myself anymore when I say my name... where I'm from and what my plan is.

Some facts:

By the way, Hunterville has 429 inhabitants. I'm curious how this little town is.

And if you follow the New Zealand Statistics Bureau, today there are 4.7 million New Zealanders and 31.3 million sheep. In 1982, there were over 70 million sheep.

But there are also a lot of cows here and some animals that I haven't been able to identify yet.

With many animals, you get the feeling that they live by the roadside, so there are also a lot of dead animals on the road.

By the way, traveling by bus is a good method here.

The slowest method of travel is actually by train.

And another insignificant fact on the side. I'm totally bitten by the road trip, I have about 50 bites. 🙊

Did you know that the water here is heavily chlorinated? You can't even quickly drink a sip of tap water, it's disgusting, but great for showering.

Do you remember when I raised the goats by hand? I really feel like doing that with sheep too. These little ones are so cute. ☺️

I'm almost in Hunterville and really excited. 🙈🙈

Connie picked me up from the bus...

She is my new host mom 😁🙈

(Is that how you say it?) 😁

I'm now an au pair for the next few weeks. 🤗

Since her husband is going to Australia for a while, she needs help with her 2 children.

She hugged me right away and we immediately had a good conversation.

It's sometimes hard to understand New Zealanders, as they sometimes speak incredibly fast, and Connie is one of them. 😁🙈 And they sometimes have a completely different pronunciation than the English or Americans.

We stood in the kitchen for what felt like an eternity and chatted. I really like her.

The husband is somehow weird, he didn't sit with us for dinner, but in front of the TV watching rugby. Rude. In this case, it's good that he's going to Australia. 😁🙈

After I told her about my training as a draftsman, she said that I could plan her kitchen, as she wants to tear down a wall.

I'll think of something.

The children are still very shy in my presence, but it will be fine. 😁

Bye Bye 👋🏼
