On the way from Golden to Nakusp, we take a short stop at a cedar forest and enjoy a pleasant walk. For the first time, we take the ferry from Shelter Bay to Galena Bay, which takes just under 30 minutes.
Upon arrival in Nakusp, we look for our B & B Brouse Creek. Christiane and Peter, two German immigrants, warmly welcome us. The room is very nice with a small kitchen and bathroom.
We want to go for a walk and decide to take the Brouse Loop. A local stops and tells us that around the corner, there is a mother bear with her two cubs. So we turn around, as such situations should be avoided.
The next morning, we have a rich breakfast prepared by Christiane. We set off to hike to the Hot Springs. Unfortunately, we only do the hike and plan to go bathing the next evening. Unfortunately, there were too many people there and we decided against it.
The town of Nakusp is small but pretty. There is a chocolate factory that we had to visit. The owner processes Belgian chocolate.
We stroll along the lakeshore and decide to have a glass of wine by the beautiful lake.
The next day, we drive to New Denver, a real hippie town. Back in Nakusp, we are able to witness a storm on the Upper Arrow Lake, truly impressive. We have a pizza at a German restaurant owner's place. We also had a very good meal at the Rotor Lodge.
