The girlfriend of one of the fellow travelers lives in Gran Canaria and picks us up by car. The five of us drive for about 1 hour to Puerto de Mogán, a formerly peaceful fishing village that now has a marina with apartments. Perfect for strolling and enjoying tapas.
On the way back, I ask to be dropped off in the old town of Las Palmas to visit Plaza de Santa Ana with its cathedral of the same name. The walk back to the ship will be a welcome workout in the sunny 28 °C.
It is becoming clear that we can now store our warm clothes at the very back of the closet.
