From the sea to the mountains

This time I had better weather luck for the second train ride on the west coast from Matsue to Tsuwano to Fukuoka.

but also energy is needed by humans....

Then we went up quickly into the mountains. After all, it was called Super-Oki.

Tsuwano is a village with a 700-year history and is largely under monument protection. Many residents still make a living from traditional crafts such as paper making.

The whole village has moats full of Koi. They used to be kept as emergency supplies.

Here too there is a shrine with 1'000 red torii: the Taikodani-Inari Shrine.

and 250 steps to the top. This time I went all the way up.

 For dinner I went to a cozy restaurant run by two women.
