My journey starts and ends in Fes, with Yassine and his family. Yassine offers cooking classes almost around the clock, so the house is always filled with international guests, which means I even have couscous for dinner 3 times in one evening. :D
With the few Arabic words I have learned in the meantime, I can now communicate a bit better with Yassine's mom. Otherwise, on the last day, I will do my Christmas shopping with Mohammed D., far away from the German pre-Christmas stress, while enjoying a cup of mint tea.
And to conclude, I treat myself to a slightly more luxurious hammam with a massage. When I come back, the house is quiet for the first time, the last cooking class guests have just left. An ideal opportunity to end the evening with the family and finally make the pancakes that have been planned for a while. :)
The night is short and the next morning at 6 everything happens very quickly.... At the airport, I have to pay the expected fee for excess luggage, and after just under 3 hours, I have already landed in Germany....
After visiting 23 countries on 5 continents in my life, I can conclude that Morocco is probably one of the most interesting and diverse countries I have visited so far. In just 3 weeks, I was in the mountains, at the beach, and in the desert, I met the most hospitable people, learned about the positive and uncomplicated Moroccan way of life, made friendships, picked up a bit of Arabic, and overall had a wonderful and intense time. I am sure this was not the last visit. :)
