Cabrera

The island of Cabrera is probably the least known island in the Balearic Islands. But it is all the more beautiful and unique.

The boat journey took an hour in fortunately calm seas. Just before reaching the island, we were able to swim in the crystal-clear water and in the distance, we could see dolphins jumping out of the sea. Unfortunately, too far away for a photo.

After arriving on the nearly uninhabited island, we received instructions to ensure that the fauna and flora are not destroyed.

We decided to go for a short hike to the most remote "beach" - S'Espalmador.

After about 1 hour, we arrived at this wonderful bay and were able to enjoy the solitude. The only company we had in the bay were the sargantanas - these funny and cheeky lizards populate the island. They were a bit intrusive for our taste, as they quickly slipped into our backpacks.

Bathing feels like diving into an aquarium - it is indescribable and fascinating. The many colorful fish always surround you and it feels like they are within reach.

Time flies by - the stay is limited - and before you know it, the boat sets off towards "Cova Blava (Blue Cave)".

The reflection of the water is sensational - brilliantly blue - as if a paint can spilled over. And hundreds of fish are swimming in it. Simply amazing.
