There's something else to add.
For the trip from Palora to Tawasap, I looked for a taxi. There was one parking by the side of the road. 'Libro?' - 'Si.' I got in and it was Carlos, the taxi driver who drove me to Tawasap on the first day. On the way, he asked me how long I'm staying. 'Thursday, July 8, then I'm going back to Quito.' I told him that the bus to Palora leaves at eleven and the one to Quito from Puyo leaves at 1:45 pm. He thought for a moment and then made the suggestion to take the trip to Quito with me. Stopping everywhere there's something to photograph. - and how much? - $170 - I told him just in case that I don't have that much. - and $30 to Puyo - vamos a ver

And the highlight of the day: on the way home by taxi, I always look for Sangay. I saw it and even found a place from where you can see it perfectly. Namely from the roundabout, which is straight south from Palora. When you stand there at the roundabout and look down the road that leads southwest, you can see it perfectly. However, it's once again covered in clouds, at least partially. Otherwise, I would have suggested a photo stop as a trial.
So, one beautiful day I will have to come here specifically.

Later at the magical hour, lying on the bed, listening to the sounds of the wilderness, and mustering up the courage to remove a grasshopper creature from the mosquito net, I see through the window of my room the most even, beautiful mountain I have ever seen. Sangay without a single cloud. Perfectly formed, just like a volcano should be. Immediately, I grab the camera, find the ideal position above the window of the neighboring room. Some climbing was involved as well. The best would be on the roof, but you can't get there without removing at least one roof sheet.
It's simply a pity that it's already too late to take a smart photo.
From now on, I look towards Sangay whenever I have the opportunity. And someday...
