Clisson - Nantes

Today we are going to Nantes and we will reach the next big river. We will stay two nights in the city to have enough time for exploration.

As a conclusion to our stay in Clisson: the Hellfest Festival takes place there every year in June. It's basically the Wacken of France. More information can be found here.

In principle, there is a great cycling infrastructure in Nantes. The routing can be a bit unusual since the wide bike lane is run in the middle of the street between cars. You have to cross the street at the access points and at the end of the routing, ride back onto the street because the bike lane is not continued in the middle at places like big intersections. Unlike in Germany, cars do stop and let cyclists pass. You simply merge into the vehicle traffic.

The former biscuit factory Lefèvre-Utile is now a cultural center.
