The days in Italy were beautiful, with a real nostalgic holiday feeling. At the first campsite, there was even a minimal childcare service, which Gian immediately participated in, even though everything was in Italian ;-) Otherwise, we enjoyed the sea and the pool, and we also went for a little bike ride through Lido di Pomposa, a typical town from the 60s tourism era.
After three nights, we continued further south to Riccione. It is located between the well-known destinations Rimini and Cattolica. Here, we stayed at another campsite with a small pool. On the wide beach, everyone is preparing for the summer, cleaning the sand (there are special machines for that, comparable to our snowplow) and measuring out corona-compliant distancing to set up beach chairs. We spent a cozy afternoon here and enjoyed Italian cuisine once again (gelato, pizza, pasta ;-)
The weather is not quite perfect yet, but still nice at around 20°C, warm, slightly cloudy. There might be occasional showers. The white flakes in the air are fortunately not snow but come from some trees that seem to be popular in this region.
