I won’t let go of this series…. Part 2!

So week two…

These sandwiches are really nice!

But they don't really fill you up. So, only something for a quick hunger, but in 2 hours I’ll be hungry again…

That was actually frozen o.O

And that was on the same evening. So, as I said, they don’t fill you up :/

Tuesday:

This is a pork bun and it was warm :), but unfortunately the Japanese have to put meat everywhere, so there were a few pieces of chicken in the salad...

One of my best combos so far! But that doesn’t fill you up either...

First and best sandwich so far!

As I said, not so filling...

Snacks!

However, I honestly haven’t found a satisfying drink here. That was lemon sparkling water. Tasted exactly like it sounds. Won't be buying it again.

I'm definitely a mushroom fan! Here there’s a debate between tree and mushroom...

French bakery fusion with Japanese influence!

Sorry for the crappy quality, but that was a video :/
Decent baguette! It’s not bread, but I’ll take that too!
Asparagus, bacon, edamame, and corn?

I told you, fusion food,

spontaneous breakfast:

This is one of the few vegetarian dishes in the convenience store. It wasn't really my thing, even though I got it heated (YES in plastic). Overall, it’s really hard to be vegetarian here. There’s meat in everything. It takes real effort to find something. But @Sonja, don’t worry, I’m taking care of alternatives and have already found a few vegetarian options :)

Found by chance

That was a sweet potato filling.

They are very popular here. But honestly, I don’t know how I feel about them yet.

Dinner!

I was out with the Komaba people and we went to karaoke for the first time afterward! Karaoke is quite fun, but I was a little too shy to belt out songs there.

There was a German song. It was really just a pretense and called Deutschlandlied. Do not recommend.

Oh, and it’s worth mentioning: half the people here are from German-speaking countries.

There’s one - Alejandro (yes, he sang that song) - who is from Andorra. One of the smallest countries in Europe. Super interesting, it only has 80,000 inhabitants! Then there are 2-3 from France or Italy. And a few from Eastern European countries.

So it’s mostly Europe.

Oops, I got a bit sidetracked, back to the food:

First time Taiyaki!

Recommended by Lea filled with custard cream (vanilla cream)

It was alright, but I want to try it fresh next time!

Snack recommendation!

the 2nd saddest looking lasagna I have ever eaten

but it was still quite tasty.

I’m tired of eating out of plastic…
Basically cooked, right?

Sadly, that didn’t fill me up at all, so I had another snack:

2 hours later I cooked....

Conclusion: Convenience Store is exactly that: convenient. But it doesn’t really satisfy hunger. You get hungry again quickly and the portions are actually not sufficient. So, I probably won’t be getting much there anymore. Because to really fill up you have to spend over 800 Yen (€4.94) and honestly, I’d rather go eat for 1000 Yen (€6.18) 😅 Or just cook myself. But snacks are definitely worth it there. And adding something to your meal works great too.

So this series will come to an end. I do feel a bit sad about the great name :(. But now there’s my own food, convenience store, cafeteria, and going out to eat. There’s actually always more to tell then :)

Food is 食べ物!

Good night

(I just actually spoke to my mom on the phone and told her I’m going to sleep now. Hi Mom! Now for real. I hope.)
