So, now it's time to get started. Arriving on AIDAbella meant for me:
1. Off to the Crew Purser: Here we are checked in and receive our official AIDA Crew ID. It's like our employee number and all the important information for our time on board.
- ID
- On-board trainings that every crew member must complete for career advancement
- Cabin, uniform, etc.
2. Introduction in the new department: After all the formalities, I was picked up by my new boss Laura and introduced to the team. It's worth mentioning that only half of the team was present, as on changeover day all colleagues have many tasks on board. After all, new guests are arriving today and that means: Check-in assistance, preparing for the new cruise, welcoming guests, etc...
Allow me to introduce? Team Shore Operation AIDAbella
3. The job can begin. Since my position as a travel consultant was only available from September, I helped out as a scout for 4 weeks. It was a really great experience for me and I really enjoyed it.
First night in my cabin
Now it's no longer 'I'm going to my apartment', but 'Where is my cabin?'
Limited living space? Yes, definitely. But you won't believe it, I felt very comfortable in my few square meters. A small bed, a wardrobe, a desk, and a bathroom. Actually, everything you need. :-)
--> my highlight? My cabin even has a porthole to the sea :-)
Isn't it great? Always having the sea in view. Enjoying the sunrise and sunset. Fantastic!
