Dom + Museums; we can not walk anymore

Published: 14.07.2022

After it was still unbearably hot at night, only the air conditioning could save us. So we woke up refreshed and not overheated 😇

First, we went to the Milan Cathedral, where we took the subway like professionals 🚋

We quickly bought the combination ticket online, which allowed us to skip the first long line. Instead of waiting in the next line, which was miles long to visit the interior of the cathedral, we climbed about 200 steps to the roof (I have always walked up every church and tower so I won't start using an elevator now 👟).

Once we reached the top, a little exhausted 😂, we had a wide view of Milan, which was not that beautiful. For a moment, we felt at home because the "newer parts" of the city reminded us of Frankfurt, but it was not as beautiful and impressive 🏙 The best part was the arches and decoration of the cathedral itself.

The stairs leading down directly entered the cathedral, so this waiting line was completely skipped as we were prepared and dressed in long clothes (which we may not have needed)😌 The cathedral itself was not really beautiful and impressive except for the stained-glass windows. We waited for 15 minutes for the archaeological area, but it was interesting and cool 😍❄️

The museum was only semi-interesting, as it only displayed old things from the cathedral. So overall, it was okay, but hey, we went there 🤪

In the afternoon, we visited the 'National Science and Technology Museum Leonardo da Vinci', which showcased Leo's many facets. The coolest part here was the space area and the small piece of rock from the moon that was collected there on my birthday (many years earlier) 🌕

Then we took the train back to the vacation rental, where we are now watching 'The Lego Batman Movie', later cooking dinner and thinking about what else we can do here tomorrow 🙈
