The parking lot had more character than I expected

The next day, we headed north again. Road trip mode was back on.

After a few hours of driving, we needed a break and made a stop at the Asia University Museum of Modern Art. It's not just any museum. The building resembles a concrete architectural statement.

The museum was designed by the renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando and is actually his first project in Taiwan. True to his style, it features a minimalist design with ample exposed concrete, clean lines, and light that is deliberately utilized. Inside, it isn’t just about the art; it’s also about how the space feels. Everything is calm, understated, and somehow quite impressive, without being loud.

But let’s get to my personal highlight of the day: parking in Taiwan. The system is simply brilliant. You drive up to the gate, your license plate is scanned, and that’s it. No ticket, no paper, no stress. And above all: No more trying to awkwardly shove that silly paper into the gate while your arm is just too short. Maybe a small-people problem... Just a little parking bunny that says hi at the machine when you want to pay the parking fees by entering your license plate. Cutie...
