New Zealand - Day 19 - Franz Josef Glacier

Actually, we wanted to fly on the glacier with a helicopter and do a hike with crampons. But due to the many clouds, this tour was canceled... (as well as the last 4 days and as it turned out, also the next few days)

Despite the bad weather, we decided to hike to the glacier tongue. On the way there, we were lucky and could get quite close to the glacier. On the way back, rain clouds moved in again (lucky us, the view of the glacier was now very poor).

We arrived back at the hostel almost dry.
