2nd day of Via Podiensis
Monday as a day off, strange, but it's due to the final destination. And 580 meters of ascent and 500 meters of descent over 21 km is a lot.
In the morning, our Swiss friends march off first.
The landscape changes, a lot of nature, occasionally a church or chapel.
Or just a place to rest
This city is the reason for the many meters of ascent, Monistrol-d'Allier.
A clever Frenchman sold us (and many others) delicious muesli/grain bread for €8 for 200g, you shouldn't be stingy:
Saugues, formerly a place of terror because of a wolf-like beast, awaited us.
We were supposed to receive a code for the accommodation on our phone, but it didn't arrive. So there was tension whether we would have a roof or have to sleep outside:
But things work out: we go to the accommodation, and there's a sealed envelope with the code for M Fleischer hanging on the door.
We enjoy the beer once again and at 9pm(!) we get the pilgrim stamp from a Mrs who is also called the mother of the Camino at 86 years old.
