Acadia National Park.

Published: 09.08.2018

The morning begins with rain and screaming seagulls dancing samba outside our window.

The photo doesn't suggest it, but the hotel is very good and we slept like the dead... at least the gentlemen of the travel group...
After breakfast, we packed the car and Nicole took the time to make a search image.

Then we started. Firstly, on an interstate (something like our highway, but without tailgaters, speeders, and left lane drivers), later on Highway No. 1 heading north. It was initially raining and cloudy. The rain made us feel like driving through a sauna at about 27 degrees Celsius.

After about an hour, the rain stopped and the sky cleared up more and more. The landscape also changed: while we initially drove through forests, more and more sections with the typical coastal landscape of the state of Maine appeared. Small bays and countless river estuaries...

We stopped at a roadside booth to buy some provisions...

... and then we reached Trenton at the entrance to Acadia National Park around noon.
After checking in and unpacking, we took a short trip to the park in the evening. We drove to Mount Cadillac by car, which towers 500 meters above the park and offers a wonderful panoramic view...

By the way, I suspect that the mountain is called "Mount Cadillac" because there is a road leading to the summit and there is traffic like in downtown Essen during Christmas market season. Just without the Dutch people...

Nicole took the opportunity to make another search image:

By the way, we are not looking for her knee!!!

A landscape like in "The Last of the Mohicans". You have the feeling that Pocahontas and Chingachgook are about to ride around the corner hand in hand.
By the way, you won't see any Indians here, but you will see Chinese. And Indians. But they are somehow also Indians...

After some time, the sky darkened, and we accelerated our walk on the mountain top.

We quickly jumped into the car and drove to the main town of Bar Harbor to eat something. On the way there, we crowded out Pocahontas and Chingachgook on the narrow road. It is to be feared that he will remain the last of the Mohicans...
The food was delicious and plentiful, and we drove back to the hotel in the dark with full stomachs.

P.S. Whoever solves the search images first can help us with ironing when we return!
