

The last day of a wonderful journey is over. After driving 2,658 kilometers and spending 10 days on the North Island, we spent the last few hours in Auckland.
The penultimate day in this wonderful country is now over. Tomorrow at 6:10 PM, the plane will fly back home.
Just before the end of our journey from the beautiful Bay of Islands to Auckland, we made three more stops in the vicinity of Paihia.

Goodbye South Island! Our time on the South Island ended today after driving approximately 3,100 kilometers with a ferry trip from Picton to Wellington.

With bright sunshine, we started the day with a hike to Franz Josef Glacier. Since we had booked a helicopter flight in the afternoon, we could only do the short tour.
Today we were accompanied by a lot of rain on the 422 kilometers from Queenstown, passing Lake Wanaka, Lake Hawera, Makarora with its Blue Pools, the town of Haast to the Franz...

Our journey today took us from Te Anau, along Lake Wakatipu, to Queenstown, and then on to Glenorchy, Arrowtown, and back to Queenstown.
Today, we went to Milford Sound. We had to start early because we chose the first boat tour at 09:45. It takes about 2 hours from Te Anau.
The plan for today was originally to drive directly from Dunedin to Te Anau. According to our research beforehand, many travelers mentioned the long distance.
A busy day comes to an end. After a short drive from Twizel to Mount Cook, we hiked the Hooker Valley Track to the glacier lake.
Our tour today took us from Christchurch to Rakia Gorge, Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki to Twizel.
Done!!! We arrived in Christchurch today at 2:00 pm under sunny blue skies and temperatures of around 20 degrees.
Nach schier endlosen 13 Stunden Flug sind wir um kurz nach sechs in Sydney gelandet. Für eine Sightseeing-Tour reichte der Stop leider nicht.
Wir sind pünktlich um kurz nach 06:00 Uhr in Dubai gelandet. Die sechs Stunden vergingen quasi wie im Flug... ;-) Nach einer "kleinen" Stärkung haben wir den Burj Khalifa gesucht.
Nach langem Warten ist es nun soweit. Unsere Reise startet um 21:00 Uhr in Hamburg. Den Sonnenaufgang werden wir dann in Dubai erleben. Vielleicht haben wir Glück und der Burj...
